Pigs can be trickier to contain than other livestock because they’re intelligent beasts that will root and dig, so you need a robust solution to reduce the possibility of escapees.

If you want to move pigs for pasture management or reinforce existing pens, consider electric fencing.

Training pigs when they are weaners will teach them to respect the fence and recognise that they need to avoid it.

Two strands should be sufficient to contain most breeds with the correct voltage – Rappa’s range of energisers are available with battery, mains or solar power.
